If you are still having problems getting some shut-eye after your night routine and counting sheep, you may just need to find the right podcast to help you get to sleep.
We are all different and there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to unwinding your mind. Some may find that listening to podcasts that are specifically designed for sleep works well for them, while others may prefer a creepy story right before bedtime.
Whatever your sleep preferences are, take a look at some of our favorite podcasts to fall asleep listening to below.
Horror Podcasts

Lore is a podcast that tells dark historical tales. It touches on the darkness of folklore, tragic events in history, and mysterious places.
The host of this show, Aaron Mahnke, has the perfect voice to drift off to sleep to. If you are into the dark and mysterious told in a story format, then this is the podcast for you.
Sleep Hypnosis/Meditation Podcasts
There are tons of podcasts that are specifically designed to help you get to sleep. Hypnosis has been used for years for many different things including sleep. Sleep hypnosis requires training the mind in order to have a more restful night’s sleep.
Note: You may need to consistently listen to episodes in order to feel the effects of the hypnosis.
3. Sleep Magic
If you prefer to be guided to sleep, then Sleep Magic may just be the podcast for you. The host, Jessica Porter, is a hypnotherapist who guides you into relaxing your body to drift off to sleep.

4. Andrew Green – Sleep Hypnosis and Meditation
In this podcast, Andrew Green guides you through different experiences and suggests how you feel, making it hard not to drift off to sleep peacefully.
Ever wonder how you would feel watching whale watching or walking through an ice cave? Then let hypnotist Andrew Green drift you off to sleep in your own imaginary world.
Sleep Sounds
Have you ever tried going to sleep in total silence but found it extremely hard? Many people have the same problem and it’s just one of the reasons that white noise machines have become so popular over the years.
If you prefer not to hear anyone’s voice but like the idea of white noise to put you to sleep, check out the podcasts below.
5. Deep Sleep Sounds
Just like the name of the podcast states, this podcast plays the sound of your choice for 2 straight hours to drift you off to sleep and the sounds are so much more specific than you think. For instance, if you’re looking for rain sounds, you have a few options:
- Spring Rain Showers in the Garden
- Summer Thunderstorm | Rain, Thunder & Cricket Sounds
- Rain on the Harbor
- Rainy Bookstore Cafe Ambience
- Rainy Car Drive Sounds
This podcast covers much more than just rain sounds so be sure to take a look if falling asleep to calming sounds is your thing.
Note: If you subscribe to this podcast you get upgraded to 8 hours of sleep sounds to carry you through the night.
6. Relaxing White Noise
I love this podcast because once you get through the ads in the beginning, it gives you 8 hours of interrupted white noise sounds for free.
One of my favorite places to get a nap in is on the Airplane and this podcast has an 8-hour-long episode of just Airplane Cabin white noise.
Are you more of a boxed fan or dishwasher noise kind of sleeper? Are you trying to train your baby to go to sleep in practical noises around the house? Then I definitely recommend this podcast.
Sleep Stories
If you want to reminisce on your childhood and have someone tell you a story to get to sleep, then check out the podcast below.
7. Get Sleepy
Thomas Jones helps you drift off to sleep by telling you a story on this podcast. The stories on this podcast are so well written that you might forget that it is an imaginary story.
This podcast keeps you entertained just enough to enjoy the stories, but also relaxes you enough to gently fall asleep while hearing them.
