What I like about this podcast is that while Marissa narrates the facts of the case, she allows the family and friends to fill in the details of the subject’s background and their interaction with the investigation. “The Vanished” also cover more recent cases that you may have never heard of and that may not get the publicity it deserves.

“Criminal” prides itself in being “the first of its kind” by telling stories of “people who’ve done wrong, been wronged, or gotten caught somewhere in the middle.” This podcast takes to the time to not only tell complete stories, but also humanize those that deserve it along the way.

Crime Reporter Nancy Hixt shares some of Canada’s most high profile criminal cases in the podcast “Crime Beat.” Nancy gives a unique perspective for each case, as she’s been on the scene for the cases she covers over the last 20 years. Since Nancy is an actual crime reporter, you get to hear bits of cases that may not have been covered on the news.

“Serial” is the podcast that started it all in the true crime world. Seasons 1 and 2 of Serial hold the record for the most downloaded seasons in the podcast world. Crime Junkie was the first podcast that I ever started listening to and I was HOOKED. Every week, look forward to a new true crime episode by Ashley Flowers and Brit Prawat. These two cover everything from the solved, the unsolved and the missing.
