Best Wireless Headphones for Listening to Podcasts

Best Wireless Headphones for Listening to Podcasts

If you’re anything like me, you can’t get much done without popping in your headphones and listening to one of your favorite podcasts. Whether I’m washing dishes, working out, or just cooking dinner, I’m usually listening to something to keep my mind off the dreaded task at hand.

Even if you only listen to podcasts from time to time, the quality of your headphones can make or break the experience. For instance, if you like listening to QCode podcasts that use immersive sound, you’re definitely going to want to step up our headphone game.

What factors are important when choosing headphones?

When purchasing headphones to buy, there should be a few things you take into consideration for what is best for your ears:

  • Price – Budgets are important and I believe in getting the best bang for your buck whenever possible.
  • Comfort – I can listen to podcasts for hours at a time, so how comfortable they are is an extremely important factor!
  • Listening Environment – Will you be mainly listening in a quiet office environment? Or on a loud train to work?
  • Sound Quality – We all know you’ll get the best sound quality with wired headphones, but since we like to be on the go, we’ll focus on wireless options here.
  • Portability – Is there anything better than being able to safely stash your podcast in your pocket or purse?
  • Battery Life – Is anyone else as bad as me at charging things? No?

These are just some of the top things I considered when I was in the market for a more enjoyable podcast listening experience. Listen, I absolutely love a deal, but the $10 headphones that my grandma picked up for me because they had cute little cat faces all over them just weren’t cutting it.

Best Wireless Headphones for Listening to Podcasts

One of the major reasons that there are so many brands and styles of headphones is that most of our hot list items are subjective! You may find that over-the-ear headphones are the most comfortable while I would argue that in-ear headphones are by far superior when it comes to comfort.

We’ve tried to narrow this list down to a broad range when it comes to price, comfort, and portability, but please let me know in the comments below if you have any other good contenders to add to the list!

In-ear Headphones

Apple AirPods Pro (2nd generation)

If you are an Apple user, I always recommend taking a look at the AirPods Pro if you are looking for an in-ear option. Not only do they seamlessly connect to your iPhone, iPad, or Macbook, but they are extremely portable and convenient.

I mean, have you seen the cutesy AirPods cover cases on Amazon? You can get a case that easily connects to your keys so that you never leave the house with them.

Features

  • Noise-canceling
  • ear-tip options for a comfortable fit
  • case covers available in major retailers
  • IPX4 water resistant
  • up to 6 hours of listening time

Beats Fit Pro

The Beats Fit Pro is also a great option if you are an Apple user since these include technology that makes syncing to your iPhone as simple as the Airpods collection. This doesn’t mean you should count these out if you are an Android user, because you can customize your experience with a simple app on your phone.

These are also super portable and simple to slip into your pocket or purse when you are on the go.

Features

  • Noise-canceling
  • ear-tip options for a comfortable fit
  • color options
  • IPX4 water-resistant
  • up to 6 hours of listening time

Raycon – The Everday Earbuds

If you are looking for an affordable option for everyday listening then I would definitely go with the Raycon earbuds.

For such a low price point, you get the benefits of noise-canceling and water resistance like you would get with the more expensive options plus a sleek modern design.

Features

  • Low price point
  • Noise-canceling
  • ear-tip options for a comfortable fit
  • color options
  • IPX6 water resistance
  • up to 8 hours of listening time

Over-the-ear Headphones

Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700

I’m going to preface this by saying I have large ears. Before you start with the dumbo jokes, just know I’ve heard it all before! I usually prefer in-ear headphone options for this reason, but the Bose Noise Canceling 700 Headphones are the most comfortable over-the-ear headphones that I have found.

Bose is well-known in the industry to deliver superior sound quality and products. If you have the budget for these headphones, I. would recommend

Features

  • Noise-canceling
  • Tilted earcups
  • IPX4 water-resistant
  • up to 20 hours of listening time

Sony WH-1000XM5

If you are into podcasts that provide audio immersion then these are the headphones for you. The bass in these headphones is exactly what you need to fully experience each episode.

While these headphones don’t fold down as conveniently as the previous model, I’d still argue that they are easy to fit in a backpack or medium-sized purse.

Features

  • Noise-canceling
  • IPX4 water-resistant
  • up to 30 hours of listening time

JBL Tune 510BT

If you are looking for an extremely budget-friendly option for over-the-ear headphones then I’d point you to the JBL Tune headphones. These headphones have a 4.6 star review on Amazon which isn’t too shabby for a $30 pair of headphones.

Since these are on the lower end of the price spectrum, you won’t find a case to carry these in, but isn’t that what your neck is for? These may not have all the bells and whistles of noise-canceling and water resistance that you’ll see with the Sony and Bose options, but if you are just an occasional podcast listener, I’d keep these in mind!

Features

  • extremely affordable
  • color options
  • up to 40 hours of listening time

Which headphones are the best for you?

The headphones you choose for your best listening experience all depend on what factors matter to you. The most expensive option isn’t always the best option and the cheapest option isn’t always the worst option!
