Spooky season may have come to an end but that doesn’t mean that we can’t continue to enjoy bone-chilling storytelling. Am I the only that thinks that there is nothing more relaxing than popping in our AirPods and scaring yourself for fun?
Okay, maybe I can see why this may not be for everyone, but if Spooky season is never long enough for you either, take a listen to these podcasts that will have the hair standing on the back of your neck all year long.
1. Snap Judgement Presents: Spooked!
Listen on: Apple Podcasts | Spotify
Spooked! is a storytelling podcast hosted by the one and only Glyn Washington. Washington manages to captivate you at the beginning of each episode with a mini story before the main entree. This podcast is presented to you by Snap Judgment and it’s clear that their goal is to keep you engaged throughout every episode.
After Washington draws you in with his impeccable voice acting and story-telling skills, the Spooked! intro music starts and you know it’s time for an actual true story that will give you goosebumps.
Before I get to the delivery of the main story, let me just point out that the Spooked! The intro music is *chef’s kiss* SO good. Seriously, I need that as a full 3-minute track.
The main story of the podcast is mostly told in the voice of the person that experienced the spooky occasion. There is something bone-chilling about hearing the story told from the perspective of someone who actually experienced it. Once you make it to the end of the podcast, I guarantee that you will be SPOOKED.
2. Bad Vibes by QCODE
Listen on: Apple Podcasts | Spotify
Are you looking for an immersive audio podcast that will have you shaking in your boots? Bad Vibes by QCODE might just be the podcast for you. Justin Elroy is the voice of your host, Mr. Boogey, who introduces you to each story.
Let me just say that I am a huge fan of many of QCODE’s array of podcasts, so it was a no-brainer for me to push play on Bad Vibes. I always recommend that if you are listening to any QCODE podcast, including this one, pop in your headphones and enjoy the immersive audio experience.
Be sure not to turn up the volume too loud, because it can sound like you are in the same room with Mr. Boogey, and even I don’t want to be in the same room with Mr. Boogey.
3. Two Girls One Ghost
Listen on: Apple Podcasts | Spotify
Two Girls One…Ghost? While the name of this podcast might make you chuckle, (if you’re a millennial like myself) don’t be fooled, this podcast is known to take you to the other side. Many listeners have admitted to having experiences with the paranormal after listening to just one episode.
This podcast is hosted by two best friends, Corinne Vien and Sabrina Deana-Roga, that somehow have you laughing throughout each spooky tale.
If you want a podcast where you feel like you are sitting in your room listening to your friends tell chilling stories, then this is definitely the podcast for you.
4. Morbid
Listen on: Apple Podcasts | Spotify
Morbid is one of my top favorite podcasts for True crime and all things spooky. If True Crime isn’t your thing, Ash Kelley and Alaina Urquhart have plenty of paranormal content to sift through.
My absolute favorite part of this podcast is the Listener Tales that are brought to you, for you, by you, and all about you! While I do enjoy the “spoopy” stories that each listener sends in, I hope to never be on the receiving end of any of their stories.
5. And That’s Why We Drink
Listen on: Apple Podcasts | Spotify
The name of this podcast is definitely fitting, considering that each episode is a perfect mix of paranormal and true crime. After you listen to Em Schulz and Christine Scheifer recap the reason why they drink for the week, Em dives into her story of all things spooky.
One of the main things I love about this podcast is that you always know the formal you’re going to get and it never gets old:
- friendly banter
- something spooky
- something true crime
Em covers a range of paranormal things including (but not limited to) ghosts, cryptids, hauntings, possessions, and…aliens? If you like a variety of topics in the world of the unexplained, then I recommend joining Em and Christine for a few episodes.
6. Mr. Doomsayer
Listen on: YouTube – This is a YouTube Exclusive Podcast
If you’re anything like me and actually find it soothing to fall asleep to scary stories, then Mr. Doomsayer is the perfect channel for you.
Mr. Doomsayer retells stories submitted by his listeners and pairs them with relaxing ASMR sounds like raindrops and footsteps to spookily drift you off to sleep.
